Privacy Policy

Effective September 17, 2026

The Arkansas Coalition of Appraisers (“ARCOA”, “we”, “us”) is a non-profit business league organized under section 501(c)(6) of the Internal Revenue Code. This policy explains what we collect through arcoappraisers.org, why we collect it, and what we publish.

The short version: we collect what we need to run a membership organization, we publish only what a member has told us to publish, and we do not sell or rent anyone’s information to anyone.

Who to contact

Arkansas Coalition of Appraisers
200 E Main St #526
Cabot, AR 72023
info@arcoappraisers.org

What we collect

When you apply to join. The membership application asks for your name, your firm or company, your mailing address, your email address, your telephone number and the membership category you are applying for. We need your mailing address because dues are paid by check and because coalition business โ€” ballots, notices, certificates โ€” goes out by mail.

When you send us your directory listing. The listing form asks what you want the public directory to show: your name, firm, city, credential and license number, the Arkansas counties you cover, the contact details you are willing to publish, a short biography, and whether you are accepting assignments. Every field is optional except your name, and the form asks you to confirm in writing that you are content for the details you have entered to appear on the website.

When you use the contact form. Your name, your email address and whatever you write to us.

When you simply read the site. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs โ€” the IP address the request came from, the browser used, the page requested and the time. These are kept for security and troubleshooting and are not used to build a profile of you.

Cookies. The website sets a session cookie for board members and administrators who sign in to manage the site. A visitor reading the public pages is given no cookies at all. The site carries no analytics package, no advertising networks and no third-party marketing trackers.

One outside service. The site loads its typefaces from Google Fonts, which means your browser fetches those font files from Google and Google therefore sees the IP address making the request. That is the only third party this website contacts, and it receives nothing else about you.

What we do with it

  • Process your membership application and keep the membership roll
  • Send you the welcome letter, dues notices, renewal reminders, meeting and election notices, event schedules and coalition news
  • Publish the directory entry you have asked us to publish
  • Contact you about something you have written to us
  • Keep the financial records a non-profit is required to keep

That is the whole list. We do not use your information for anything else, and we do not hand it to anyone else to use for anything else.

What appears on the website

Only what you put on the listing form. If you leave a field blank it does not appear โ€” there are no placeholders and no gaps, and a short listing sits perfectly normally beside a long one.

Your mailing address is never published. It is used for coalition mail and for our records, and for nothing else.

Please choose your published contact details deliberately. An email address on a public web page will be found by address-harvesting software sooner or later, which is why a number of our members publish a website or an office telephone number instead. That is entirely your call, and you can change it whenever you like.

You can ask us to change, reduce or remove your directory entry at any time, for any reason or none. Write to us and we will do it. Withdrawing your listing does not affect your membership.

What we never do

  • We do not sell personal information
  • We do not rent, trade or license the membership list
  • We do not supply member contact details in bulk to appraisal management companies, lenders, recruiters, software vendors or anyone else who asks
  • We do not run advertising on this website

Who else sees your information

Our hosting provider, which stores the website and its database, and our email provider, which carries our messages. They process this information on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.

Board members and volunteers who administer membership, dues and the directory, who see only what they need in order to do that.

Anyone the law requires, if we are ever compelled by valid legal process.

Payments

Dues are paid by check sent to the postal address above. This website does not collect or store card numbers or bank account details. If we add online payment in future, the payment will be handled by a specialist payment processor under its own privacy policy, and this page will be updated before that happens.

Email we send you

Membership correspondence โ€” your application acknowledgement, your dues receipt, a renewal notice, a ballot โ€” relates to your membership and will continue for as long as you are a member.

Our newsletters, event announcements and general coalition news carry an unsubscribe link and our postal address at the foot of every message. Unsubscribing takes you off those mailings within ten business days at the latest, and does not affect anything to do with your membership.

Keeping it safe, and keeping it only as long as we need it

The site is served over an encrypted connection, access to the administration area is limited to the people who need it, and the most sensitive category of information โ€” payment card and bank details โ€” is never collected here at all.

No website can promise perfect security, and we will not pretend otherwise. If personal information held by ARCOA is ever exposed in a security breach, we will notify those affected as Arkansas law requires.

We keep membership and financial records for as long as the organization is required to, and we remove directory information as soon as a member asks us to.

Children

This site is meant for practicing appraisers, trainees and people looking to commission an appraisal. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has sent us information, please tell us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we change what we collect or what we do with it, we will change this page and move the date at the top. Material changes affecting members will also be sent to members by email.
