Carol Huffman, MNAA

President and Primary Founder

Carol Huffman brings over 38 years of experience in the real estate appraisal profession and is President and a primary founder of the Arkansas Coalition of Appraisers (ARCOA). She founded Carol Huffman Appraisals in Arkansas in 1990. Her firm serves seven counties, and she has been a VA, FHA, USDA, and HUD roster appraiser for more than 22 years. Carol currently supervises appraisal trainees in Arkansas and Alaska.

To better serve diverse and rural markets, Carol expanded her practice to Kenai, Alaska, where she operates a second office covering the entire Kenai Peninsula. She divides her time between Arkansas and Alaska, providing residential valuation services, consulting, and litigation support. She has held a Certified Residential License in Arkansas since the mid-1990s and in Alaska for approximately five years, with extensive experience in rural and extremely rural markets.

Carol has been an active and committed member of the National Association of Appraisers for five years, attending ACTS and SUMMIT conventions annually. She currently serves on the Membership and Fundraising Committees and is actively working to establish NAA state organizations in both Arkansas and Alaska, demonstrating her commitment to strengthening the association at the grassroots level and expanding member engagement.

Mentorship and education are central to Carol’s professional mission. She has trained and supervised multiple full-time appraisers throughout her career and believes supporting the next generation is essential to the long-term health of the profession. She holds a Home Measurement Specialist (HMS) designation and an Appraisal Review (AR) certification and regularly shares her expertise with industry partners through her “Ask the Appraiser” presentations.

Carol’s leadership extends beyond appraisal. She has a proven history of building and sustaining organizations, including founding a youth soccer program in Johnson County that remains active today and creating community food banks and outreach programs that grew to serve more than 400 families.

Carol has been married to her husband, David, for 44 years. In their spare time, they enjoy traveling, hunting, and fishing with family.

As President and a primary founder of ARCOA, Carol is committed to advocating for practicing appraisers, promoting education and mentorship, supporting rural markets, and helping ensure a strong, unified future for the appraisal profession.
